FRFF 2008 Lineup

Postby Notlob » Mon Jan 28, 2008 6:24 pm

Please post only confirmed, documented information (artists' websites, Pollstar, etc.).

For example, we know of four. From the FRFF Home Page:

The festival attendees have spoken, and over 1,100 surveys were completed and returned. The top three Showcase vote-getters were, in order:

1. Anthony da Costa, with just over 40% of the votes,
2. Lindsay Mac, with 20% of the votes,
3. Joe Crookston and Randall Williams, virtually tied at 18% of the votes.

These musicians will be invited to participate in the "Most Wanted Song Swap" and workshop appearances at the 2008 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival, and will also be invited to participate in our annual Spring Preview Tour in May of 2008.

No groundless speculation, please. Logical, fact-based indirect information is OK, but please cite your sources / documentation.

"Wishes" should be made in the "Artists Who Should Be At Falcon Ridge..." topic.

'Logical' Speculation IS Permitted??

Postby TyteFystedFolkie » Tue Jan 29, 2008 1:57 pm

Well, in THAT case, I'll speculate that Nerissa and Katryna Nield will be there.

as most of you have probably seen on the main FR website, the are beginning to announce who is coming in 2008:

We're pleased to announce the first group of confirmed performers for this year's festival: The Strangelings, John Gorka, Clayfoot Strutters, Vance Gilbert, Lowen & Navarro, and Gandalf Murphy & the Slambovian Circus of Dreams. More will be announced soon, and a complete performance schedule will be available in early summer.

It's not up on her Web site, but SONiA told us at her show last year that she and disappear fear will be at FRFF this year. Obviously, that can be taken as speculation without the definitive proof of a tour listing or etc.

Glad that Gandalf will be back. Hopefully they'll do a set in the dance tent again - that was a heck of a good time.

The Neilds (maybe)

Postby Notlob » Mon Feb 25, 2008 7:15 pm

by email

Dear Reader,

I know we've promised you up, down and sideways that we will not send you more than one email a month, but Patty's making me write this special report. And it's not breaking news about illegal campaign contributions or tainted beef either.

I am pregnant.

(It's on purpose. We are very, very, very happy).

And I know the question on everyone's mind is: will you still be at Falcon Ridge this summer.

Answer: if they have us, we will come. My baby is due August 26, so though I will be huge, I will be there, even if they need to airlift me to and fro.

However, that will be the last show we do. Until October. I know, heck of a short maternity leave, but what can you do? I have a tough boss. (Katryna. Also, me.)

Lila is very excited. Every night she says, "I want to see the baby." Then I pull up my shirt and she kisses my stomach. She also says she has a baby in HER stomach, naturally.

So there you have it. Be well, and we will write you again in a week or so to tell you what's doing in March.

Love, Nerissa

When did "womb" become an unmentionable word??

Lila is about 4 years old, "womb" may not be in her vocabulary.
