THANK YOU Anne, Bub, crew, and EVERYBODY

Postby Amber » Mon Jul 28, 2008 2:35 pm

Seems like this deserves its own thread:

From the very beginning, when they opened the campground at the crack of early to give the campers a chance to beat the weather, to the very end, when the weather was beating us and their absolutely heroic efforts kept everybody safe, Anne and crew took really good care of us. Everybody else followed their lead and took care of each other.

THANK YOU EVERYBODY!!!!

i agree - it was absolutely a great decision to open the campground early to let us get up the hill and pitch camp while we had an opening. thank you, FR.

I have no complaints

Postby frfanhwt » Mon Jul 28, 2008 6:21 pm

My only complaint :( is that I have none.

Well, maybe that I didn't get to go Sunday?

Naw, missing the storm was O.K.

I do hope no one got hurt!

I'll chime in here, too. Our camp was totally impressed with every preparation and detail, as usual, but we were even more delighted with the common sense that prevailed at every turn as critical decisions needed to be made. A GIGANTIC thank you to Anne and to ALL of the amazing volunteers who work so very, very hard to make this all happen. You guys and gals are the absolute lovin' best!!

I did think about posting a sign near our peace flag saying I was a member of the Falcon Ridge Forum, but name tags are a good idea too.

Hats off to the crew - paid and unpaid - and to all of the attendees as well - it really wouldn't be Falcon Ridge without the WHOLE community :D

I posted this on my website, but wanted to repost here to make sure you got the message. :)

Atlanta is considerably drier and less muddy than my weekend at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. Despite that, it's not nearly as exciting by comparison.

I met so many beautiful people and had a wonderful time.
My deepest gratitude to:

* The festival attendees: Way to brave crazy weather, late nights and long walks from the muddy parking lot! We keep playing because you keep listening. Thanks especially to my campground neighbors who made sure I was dry, fed, and entertained during my downtime. You were the best neighbors a little folksinger could ask for.

* The entire staff and volunteer group at Falcon Ridge: People, you are incredible. You kept things running smoothly, kept us fed, kept us happy and whole. You make it possible for us to play and sing and dance.

* The crepe artists at the Skinny Pancake: Had I ever tasted a crepe before this weekend? All other crepes are a faint and distant memory compared to yours. Thanks in particular for "The Heartbreaker" which kept my dessert cravings from getting out of hand!

* My fellow Emerging Artists: It was really an honor to play on a stage (and in tents) with such great company. You are all incredibly talented and I hope we meet again on the road.

* The inventor of the rain fly: Whoever you are, you kept my stuff from getting soaked on Saturday night during that torrential downpour. For that, I salute you.

* This Year's Performers: Thank you for reminding me why I get up and write in the morning, why I put so many miles on my car, why I will never quit. Many of you went out of your way to offer encouragement and hugs this weekend. You are the Real Thing. Thanks for your inspiration.

I had a fantastic time and hope to see you all again next year!

Message to Anne

Thank you for all that you do, all that you've done, all that you will do. If there is something that we can do to help you wrap up this year or move forward to next, big or small, let us know. If a thing is in my power to do, i'll do it gladly; Falcon Ridge means a lot, and to lose it is unthinkable.

Indeed! I singled out Anne because she is the "face" of FRFF.
